DESCRIPTION:CANADIAN FIREARMS SAFETY COURSE (PAL) & CORE Courses – AUGUST 2023\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) is the primary licence for possession of a firearm and acquisition of ammunition\, and it is both required and the only permissible document for an individual to acquire or permanently import a firearm.\nThe Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education (CORE) program is British Columbia’s hunter education program. The B.C. Wildlife Federation (BCWF) operates the CORE Program on behalf of the Ministry of Forests\, Lands\, and Natural Resource Operations. ONLINE COURSE LINK HERE.\n\nPLEASE NOTE: these courses teach basics in safety and handling of a firearm and interpreting hunters regulations. They do NOT teach you the in’s and out’s of how to hunt or process. We recommend those with an interest in hunting\, to find a friend\, mentor or organization that can help delve into these topics further. It’s also worth noting that the curriculum deals with some triggering concepts. For example\, suicide prevention and other realities as they relate to the purchase\, storage and use of firearms are discussed. We will include local counselling and mental health service numbers in programs\, and advise those of the importance of seeking help if these discussions are triggering.
