POSTPONED TO FEB 2022 – NEW! POTTERY 1-0-1 – 3 SESSIONS – MASSET
You will make your own cups and bowls, and get to trim them yourself over 3 sessions (10hrs at the wheel). This workshop is perfect for total beginners and also for those who want to spend a bit more time at the wheel learning more of the steps involved to make your own bowls and cups! No previous experience required. Proof of vaccination required upon entry. Attendance at all 3 sessions is required (no find your own replacement available if you miss a class!).
- Session 1: MAKING CUPS! (Sunday February 20: 10:00am – 2:30pm)
4 hours at the wheel (+ 1/2 hour lunch break)
This first class will be focused on the cylinder shape cup shape and altering it’s shape at the final stages.
You can keep 3 cups that will get trimmed and glazed by your instructor (ready for pickup 6-8 weeks later).
- Session 2: MAKING BOWLS! (Saturday February 26: 10:00am – 2:00pm)
3 1/2 hours at the wheel (+ 1/2 hour lunch break)
In this class we will go through the steps to make a bowl, you can then make either bowls or cups on your own which we will trim the next day.
- Session 3: TRIMMING! (Sunday February 27: 3:00pm – 5:30pm)
2 1/2 hour Trimming class ( no lunch)
We will trim the pots we made the day before. You can keep up to 3 more pots (cups or bowls) that you have made and trimmed yourself, they will get glazed for you by the instructor (ready for pickup 6-8 weeks later).
What you need to bring:
- Clothes you can get dirty in, an old towel, can be dishtowel size or bigger.
- Bring a lunch & water.
- You will have your own wheel for the day, the clay and tools are included!
Things that make throwing at the wheel difficult:
- High heels
- Long hair hanging down (bring something to tie it up!)
- Jewelry on the hands (will get worn down by the spinning clay)
- Long nails

CANCELLATION POLICY: Find your replacement – please email info@hgrec.com if you missed the date of cancellation reimbursement (Jan 1 2022) and need assistance in finding a replacement as we may have a waitlist for all 3 sessions! You must let us know if you’re not able to attend and provide contact for your replacement. In this circumstance, you can “sell” your ticket (all 3 sessions) to another person; however, if these conditions cannot be met, reimbursement will not be provided. Reimbursement or entry to a future program may be provided if absence due to illness. Please do not attend a program if you are unwell.
