NEW- STARTS JAN 25TH! TOTAL BODY BOOTCAMP with Carolyn –  DAAJING GIIDS


Come join Carolyn for a circuit-style class that makes it accessible to all fitness levels! Looking for a more intense workout? Cycle through your movements at your circuit station faster. Looking for a less intense workout? Pick up a lighter weight at your station. Whatever you need, this class will have it for you!

Time(s): 6pm – 7pm

Location: GidGalang Kuuyas Naay Gymnasium, Daajing Giids

Cost:

  • Full Registration: $96 ($12/class, 8 classes) 
  • Single Class Drop-in: $14/class

A minimum of 8 participants is required for this class to run. Drop-in’s are welcome! Class size limit is 25. 

Are you ready to exercise? Participants must complete a PAR-Q form before starting any fitness program. Participants will be provided this document. This document will help you decide if you should consult your doctor before becoming more physically active.

Cancellation Policy: 

  • If registration cancellation occurs 5 days (120 hours) prior to the start of the first class, 100% of the cost of registration will be refunded.
  • If registration cancellation occurs 2 (48 hours) days prior to the start of the first class, 60% of the cost of registration will be refunded.
  • If registration cancellation occurs after the start of the first class, but before the start of the second class, 30% of the cost of registration will be refunded.
  • If registration cancellation occurs after the start of the second class, the cost of registration will not be refunded.
  • If a participant is unable to attend a class due to illness or the presence of COVID-19 symptoms, the cost of the class will be returned upon request in writing to Haida Gwaii Recreation.

INSTRUCTOR BIO

Come join Carolyn for a total body boot camp class! Did you miss having group fitness in the south end? Did you love the boot camp classes of 2022? Carolyn, a resident of Daajing Giids, missed them too so went and got certified as an instructor so group fitness can come back to the south end!

 

 


COVID-19 SAFETY PROCEDURES

  • Participants can show up to class at least 15 minutes before start (5:45pm). Please give enough time for the instructor to complete daily verbal screening, attendance, and to complete any required forms.
  • Hand hygiene and physical distancing will be encouraged.
  • Instructor will clean high-touch surfaces before and after the start of class (e.g. door handles, chairs).
  • Instructor will manage complete record-keeping and report daily attendance and any incidents to the Recreation Coordinator.
  • Participants must stay home if they show any symptoms (e.g. cough, fever, fatigue).
  • Class may be cancelled by instructors if they show symptoms.
  • In the event of a participant or instructor showing symptoms during the program, the participant will be asked to remove themselves from the program and seek medical advice. Beyond daily screening, is not up to our staff to do temperature checks, testing or contact tracing. This is the role of the health authority.

Staying safe is a shared responsibility. These procedures and our combined efforts help to lower the risk of spreading COVID-19, but there is still a risk.

Please do your best to abide by these new procedures to ensure we can recreate safely and respectfully together on Haida Gwaii.
