Get Healthy & Fit with Haida Gwaii Recreation!

Maintain or build-up your fitness levels on your own time, and at your own pace with a membership to one of our island weight rooms. With several locations across the island, this is a great way to reach your fitness & wellness goals. Before utilizing any gym facilities you must first take a complementary orientation course. This brief course will quickly familiarize you with the equipment and best practices for use.

Membership Costs

**NEW: Card Lock Entry installed. Please go to SD#50 Board Office to renew membership & get access if you’ve already completed your weight room orientation pre-COVID**

Regular Rates – for residents*

Three Months: $52.50 (taxes included)

One Year: $105 (taxes included)

Student Rates/1 Year Memberships

Current GKNSS Students $21 (taxes included)

GKNSS Recent Grads $31 (taxes included)

Please note all memberships will require a $10 key deposit added to the membership as well. Cash or cheque only, payable at the School District No. 50 office during operating hours (phone toll-free: 1-888-771-3131).

*This weight room facility targets use for residents of Haida Gwaii. As it stands, we only offer free group orientations on average 1x per month. We do not have big revenues, and administration between HG Rec and SD#50 works to keep things going. As capacity grows, we may be able to welcome more transient workers and visitors.

Gym Hours

Weekdays: 5:00 am – 8:00 am and 5:00 – 10:00 pm
Weekends & Stat Holidays (& summer): 5:00 am – 10:00 pm
